Dr. Ernest Kwamina Y. Addison

Dr. Addison is an economist and the 15th Governor of the Bank of Ghana. He previously served as Director of Research at the Bank from 2003 to 2011 and as an economist at the African Development Bank. Dr. Addison has over 25 years of experience working in the public sector for international organizations, governments and central banks with a focus on economic development issues.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Ghana, a Master of Science in Economics from Cambridge University, UK and a PhD in Economics from McGill University, Canada. He has worked as an Economist at BOG from 1995 and rose through the ranks to become the Deputy Chief and Head of the Economic Analysis and Policy Division of the Research Department. He is an Ex-Officio Member of the Board of Governors of the IMF.
