Ernest Bediako Sampong is a pharmacist who founded Ernest Chemists Limited (ECL) in 1986 as a mere one-shop business. Ernest Chemists Limited (ECL) has grown rapidly into a large pharmaceutical entity. The company opened its first foreign subsidiary in Freetown, Sierra Leone in September 2009. The company has thirteen wholesale and pharmacy retail outlets in Ghana, Cote d’Ivoire, Senegal, Burkina Faso and Nigeria. Today, Mr. Bediako Sampong is one of themost successful CEOs in Ghana having been adjudged the CIMG Marketing Man of the year as well as the most influential CEO in Ghana. He is the President of the Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association Ghana.
